Course Objectives:

  1. List applications of CBCT imaging
  2. 3D - TMJ and Airway Analysis
  3. CBCT for Implant planning
  4. Preventative strategies to avoid implant complications
  5. 3D - Radiographic anatomy and common pathology
  6. CBCT Hands-on Interpretation (Participant laptop required)

 

Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) has gained broad use in the field of dental medicine, providing high resolution information in three dimensions. This course discusses the nature and uses of CBCT; Implant planning complications and preventative strategies; role of CBCT in TMJ and Airway Analysis. This course also discusses principles involved in systematic interpretation of 3D-CBCT volume. Hands on component of the course requires participants to bring their own laptop.
